2025 Update: Dr Simon Pridgeon is a Consultant Urological Surgeon in Northern Urology. In 1999, He graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School. He earned his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2004. He conducted research into new treatments for bladder cancer and received funding from Cancer Research UK, The Urological Foundation, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship. In 2013, Dr Simon Pridgeon completed his training in Urological Surgery in London. After that, he completed a year of post-fellowship training at the Institute of Urology, London (UCLH), sub-specialising in complex stone surgery. He specialises in kidney cancer and kidney diseases and has extensive experience in urological robotic procedures such as partial nephrectomy, reconstructive surgery, and robotic prostatectomy. He is appointed publicly at The Cairns Hospital and treats private patients at the Far North Day Hospital and Cairns Private Hospital. Simon operates on private patients at the Darwin Private Hospital and the Darwin Day Surgery. He is also a visiting Urologist at the Royal Darwin Hospital. Dr Simon Pridgeon has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications, contributed two textbook chapters, and presented more than 60 research papers at national and international conferences.
