St Paul's Cathedral provides prayer and worship with a vibrant and diverse community of members from more than 25 nations. The church is built in a neo-Gothic transitional style, partly in Early English and partly decorated. The church's foundation stone was laid in 1880. The church's vision is to be a place of transformation for their City and Diocese where all people can come to experience and know God’s love in Christ Jesus. The church has 400,000 visitors a year. St Paul's Cathedral faced multiple restorations, and coloured glass lanterns and windows were installed by the late 19th century. The church offers free Wi-Fi.

St Francis Church is the oldest Catholic church in Victoria, designed by Samuel Jackson, 1807-1876. The church is the first cathedral church of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. They laid the foundation stone on 4 October 1841, and the church was blessed and opened on 23 October 1845. St Francis Church has an organisation for young adults in their 20s and 30s who unite to grow in faith through fellowship and spirituality. They have numerous organisations and societies, including the Catholic Missions Office, the Catholic Welfare Organisation, the Young Christian Workers and the Catholic Women’s Social Guild. St Francis Church has various members of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation facilitate Bible study groups.
