This is an ideal spot for nature study, birdwatching, bushwalking, picnics, horse riding and camping. The best time to visit is between August and October when colourful wildflowers are abundant.

Attractive camping area thats protected by large manna gums. can get a bit cold in winter. nice walking track called the Western Ridge Walking track. around 4km in length. takes in all the lookouts. lookouts include Dog rocks, the Lang's and shepherds flat. you can safe yourself time and take extremely steep drive up to Telstra tower up top of mountain from camping area at the bottom.
