“Bendigo Marketplace first opened its doors on the 31st of October 1995. The shopping centre is supported by over 95 speciality stores. Bendigo Marketplace Shopping Centre is now managed by CBRE. The centre features a well-balanced retail mix that includes everyday fashion, lifestyle and service outlets, homewares, general retail, fresh produce, and takeaway food options. The shopping centre caters to the daily needs of Bendigo’s primary trade area, and it also attracts customers from a broader secondary trade area extending approximately 80 to 100 kilometres beyond the region. When Bendigo Marketplace first opened, they had two major stores, Big W and Woolworths, and a handful of speciality stores. The centre underwent a major development in 2008/2009, which saw Bendigo Marketplace double in size. This was an exciting time for Bendigo residents who, for the first time, were offered a complete retail mix locally consisting of apparel, jewellery, and footwear, and a large food court with several local and national brands.
