EUREKA CENTRE BALLARAT REVIEWS
A very interesting place, currently the home of the original Eureka flag, also found out that the new Centre is actually very close to the site of the original Eureka Stockade, however, no one knows exactly where it was located as it was never officially recorded, however, it was in the area of the current Park surrounding the new Centre. Also found out that for such an important event in our Nation's history that many of the original thoughts and statements regarding this issue have been found not to be true or there is no proof that they occurred as is believed. There are so many different stories and legends regarding the battle (which only lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes) that the real truth will probably never be known. We had a very knowledgeable guide giving us the best available information regarding what is known and can be shown to be factual, all up it was a very interesting visit and made us think what a really important place this "revolution " has had on our past history.
Well worth a visit if you're interested in learning a bit more about what was a pivotal moment in Australian history. The remains of the old Eureka flag are incredible to see!
Wonderful visit to the Eureka Centre. The helpful friendly staff at the information counter, the cafe and The Ballarat Historical Society. Couldn't have asked for any better support. Highly commend Eureka Centre.

Ballarat Tramway Museum was established to preserve the tramway heritage that graced Ballarat's streets from 1887 to 1971. Authentic tram operations are simulated on a public road along the central track section, employing genuine practices such as conductors, paper tickets, uniforms, tram stops, and original-style paperwork. Situated at the south end of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, the Tram Museum and depot exhibit tramcar collections, featuring displays of photographs, videos, tramway memorabilia, stories about "Tammie," souvenirs, and a bookshop. Visitors are welcome, and self-guided tours are available when volunteers are present. Additionally, the Museum relies on 72 solar panels generating 18kW of power to support its daily operational activities.

BALLARAT TRAMWAY MUSEUM REVIEWS
A beautiful museum rich in historical knowledge! I loved every moment of exploring here, as a complete newbie to tram knowledge, the info here was just enough for me to gain a good understanding but not an overload. So many models have been kept in great condition - the free tram ride on the old route was especially enjoyable. The one that was left “untouched” and with the old magazines placed there made me especially poignant about the history which these trams saw before their current retirement here. The staff (all volunteers) were so friendly and I wish I was able to spend more time here but schedule was tight. There is a small entry fee that covers all the activities, and a cafe. It was really quiet on the day I went but it deserves more attention! Truly a must visit if you’re into historical topics.
If you’re in (or passing by) Ballarat, the Ballarat Tramway Museum is well worth looking at! The volunteers are very friendly and are great to talk to. Unfortunately at the time of my visit the track was under renovation, so I can’t review the team ride they normally offer! I was however, treated to a tour of their workshop which was just as good. Perfect for tram enthusiasts of all ages, including big kids like me who love sitting in the driver’s seat and pretending they’re driving a tram through Ballarat!
I highly recommend this super interesting, family friendly museum. I was expecting a small, poorly lit room with some information boards. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Lots of trams to explore, information and stories, kind and knowledgable volunteers. You could easily spend a couple of hours here, even with young children.
