Tacking Point Lighthouse is situated in the picturesque coastal town of Port Macquarie, NSW. The lighthouse is operated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority and is classified by the National Trust of Australia. Panoramic views along Australia’s Mid-North Coast is from this lighthouse. The lighthouse was built by NSW architect James Barnet in 1879. The lighthouse itself is only eight meters high, and during migration, the area itself is commonplace for whale-watching. Roto House was home to John Flynn, a land surveyor, his wife Jessie and six children. It was built in the year of 1890. His family occupied this 11-room weatherboard house until 1979. The house is still lovingly maintained by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to this day. On the grounds of the Roto House Historic Site, wedding ceremonies or activities may be performed. The house and gardens make a unique backdrop for any celebration, ensuring your photos will be memorable. Volunteers are available to explain about this house.

PORT MACQUARIE COURT HOUSE

Here’s The Deal:
The Old Port Macquarie Courthouse is a heritage building and has now become a museum of justice. James Barnet designed the building, and Butler and Bourne built this courthouse in 1869. The site has two big, mature Norfolk Island pines on the east side of the courthouse. The interior is made up of one primary room and three secondary rooms. It is a popular retirement and holiday destination in Port Macquarie.
