Port Macquarie Museum is a historical venue representing area life through themed displays starting with early European settlers. The award-winning museum shows the stories of the past citizens from their beginnings as a British penal settlement through to the popular tourist and sea-change destination. They have been sharing Port Macquarie's stories since 1957. The museum has over 2,000 objects on display at any time. They feature original artworks, photographs and objects, contemporary landscapes, and illustrating history. You can get free entry on the first Sunday of each month 11am to 3pm. You can also take their free audio tour at any time.

Here’s The Deal:
Mid North Coast Maritime Museum is preserving the history of maritime. It has three venues where you have the opportunity to relive over 100 years of heritage. The first site is Pilot Cottage, the second is The Pilot Boat Shed, and the third is the Hibbard Boat Yard. Pilot Cottage has ten rooms displaying photographs, memorabilia, and artefacts. This cottage date back to the 1890s. Pilot Boat Shed and the Hibbard Boat offers free entry for visitors.
