Billabong Zoo is an award-winning zoo with over 80 species of mammals, reptiles and birds. They care for over 200 animals in this friendly 10-acre koala and wildlife park. You can get up close and personal with Australian and exotic animals. You can also book one-on-one encounters with some unique animals, including cheetahs, snow leopards, koalas, red pandas, meerkats, and snakes. The café also offers a range of delicious cuisines, from Australian favourites to Mexican and Moroccan, to satisfy all tastes and provide meal options for children. Zoo Annual Passes can be purchased online. All applicants must be present on their first visit to the zoo for photo ID, and you will need to present your online purchase receipt to receive your Annual Pass card.

Macquarie Nature Reserve is a family picnic and historic heritage place. The Nature Reserve is close to the heart of Port Macquarie and just a few hundred metres from the beach. Macquarie Nature Reserve offers a peaceful setting surrounded by the region's past. The nature reserve is also an important wildlife corridor, home to a koala hospital. It is also a preservation society that rehabilitates and releases sick and orphaned koalas. Macquarie Nature Reserve is so picturesque here that many choose to have their special celebrations in the lovely gardens. The nature reserve is also an excellent place for weddings near Port Macquarie.
