A/Prof Andrew Zacest obtained his medical degree from the University of Adelaide. He was appointed Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in August 2008 and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide in 2010. He specialises in functional neurosurgery and neuromodulation. He has a clinical interest in deep brain stimulation, radiosurgery, epilepsy surgery, brain tumours, general neurosurgery, and spinal surgery. A/Prof Andrew Zacest is a member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australia, the World Society of Stereotactic Neurosurgery, and chair of the Pain Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. A/Prof Zacest and his team treat patients with care and are always ready to help them recover quickly. Associate Professor Andrew Zacest has received numerous research awards and scholarships, including the John Lowenthal Surgical Research Prize, the CONROD RACS, and the Stuart Morson Neurosurgical Scholarship. A/Prof Amal Abou-Hamden is an Australian-trained neurosurgeon who obtained her medical degree from the University of Adelaide, Australia. Dr Adam Wells is an Adelaide-based neurosurgeon specialising in brain tumours and traumatic brain injury. In 2003, he graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School with first-class honours. He began his advanced neurosurgical training in 2008 and has gained experience working in Adelaide, Hobart, Perth, and the United Kingdom. Dr Wells is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua). He is also a member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia (NSA), the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS), and the Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR). Additionally, he serves as a visiting research fellow in the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Cambridge and is a member of the Australian Medical Association (SA). In 2014, he earned his PhD from the University of Adelaide for his original research on ischaemic stroke. He was honoured with the prestigious Peter Leech Memorial Prize and the Nimmo Prize for full-time study. In 2017, Dr Wells served as the clinical neurotrauma fellow at Addenbrooke's Hospital, University of Cambridge, under the supervision of the renowned neurotrauma expert, Professor Peter Hutchinson. Dr Wells is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Adelaide, a clinical academic consultant neurosurgeon at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, and a visiting medical officer at St Andrew's Private Hospital. He is also the Abbie Simpson Clinical Fellow at the Neurosurgical Research Foundation and leads neurosurgical research at the University of Adelaide.
