“A/Prof Andrew Zacest obtained his medical degree from the University of Adelaide. He was appointed Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in August 2008 and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide in 2010. He specialises in functional neurosurgery and neuromodulation. He has a clinical interest in deep brain stimulation, radiosurgery, epilepsy surgery, brain tumours, general neurosurgery, and spinal surgery. A/Prof Andrew Zacest is a member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australia, the World Society of Stereotactic Neurosurgery, and chair of the Pain Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. A/Prof Zacest and his team treat patients with care and are always ready to help them recover quickly. Associate Professor Andrew Zacest has received numerous research awards and scholarships, including the John Lowenthal Surgical Research Prize, the CONROD RACS, and the Stuart Morson Neurosurgical Scholarship. He has published many clinical articles in well-respected journals, such as the Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, Neuromodulation, and Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. Additionally, he serves as a section editor for the Youmans Neurosurgery Textbook and has authored several book chapters, including those on functional neurosurgery and neuromodulation. 2025 Update: As part of his training, A/Prof Andrew Zacest completed a Master's of Surgery thesis under the guidance of Professor Bob Vink, and he has been awarded a Pain Fellowship by examination through the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.”
