“Dr Nick Brook is a consultant urologist with a private practice at Calvary North Adelaide and Ashford Hospitals. He undertook a urological cancer fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane from 2008-2009. He got a clinical fellowship in Europe, undertaking advanced robotic prostate and kidney surgery. Dr Nick Brook is a member of the FRCS(Urol), FRACS(Urol), Urological Society of ANZ, ANZ Urological and Prostate Cancer Trials Group, Society of Urological Oncology, American Urological Association and European Association of Urology. Dr Nick Brook is an Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide and was a senior staff specialist for 14 years at RAH. He has a special interest in Urological Cancers, Organ-Sparing Surgery and Brachytherapy. “Dr Jehan Titus is a Senior Consultant Urologist at Royal Adelaide Hospital. He finished his medical degree at UNSW. He completed his internship and general surgical training through Sydney’s northern rotation. His urology training was on the New South Wales Training Programme. Dr Jehan Titus was the first Urologist in South Australia to perform a range of advanced procedures, including MRI fusion biopsies (2012), PET-MRI fusion (2020), Rezum steam vaporisation, EVOLVE Laser photo-selective vaporisation of the prostate (2013), SpaceOAR insertion to reduce radiotherapy toxicity (2012), and non-invasive male urodynamics (2015). He is strongly interested in laser surgery for kidney stones and prostate diseases, having been the lead clinician at the Royal Adelaide Hospital for HoLEP for over ten years. He has pioneered computer-guided biopsies in Adelaide and is actively involved in research on integrating MRI/PET fusion technology into both diagnostic and treatment modalities in Adelaide. He is also interested in functional urology, urodynamics, neurotoxin, and neuromodulation for bladder overactivity. He also operates at Ashford, St. Andrews, and Calvary North Adelaide and visits Port Lincoln and Whyalla.

Dr Nick Brook is very experienced, full of knowledge, and a very compassionate person. I’ve been struggling with kidney issues since birth and I can confidently say Dr Nick is one of the best urologists I’ve ever met. I’ve had three kidney surgeries with him over the past month and from the first appointment I knew I’m in good hands! He explained everything many times, discussing every single detail with me so I was completely comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole process. Before every surgery, he would have a chat with me just outside the operating room, calming me down and answering all of my endless questions. All the steps of the three procedures were made clear from the beginning. His staff is very friendly and caring too. Dr Nick, I can’t thank you enough for your efforts and everything you’ve done to help me. Finally, I’m pain free!! Thank you so much, words can’t describe how much I appreciate your work and see you in 4 weeks!

I have the highest regard for him not only for his professional expertise, knowledge base and correct ‘straight bat’ advice but also for his caring nature and down to earth attitude. This perfect blend of professionalism and admirable human qualities makes him stand out as an excellent choice for anyone seeking truthful advice and care in urological matters. Highly recommended!

Mr Titus has looked after me for kidney stones ( 2 episodes of acute pain presentation). I have found him to be competent and pleasant to deal with. He attended to my problem promptly and looked after me in the hospital with care and compassion with good communication throughout my hospital stay on both occasions - he also has a good sense of humor and makes you feel relaxed . Dr Ashrafi explained thoroughly why prostate tests were required and the following results/interpretations/recommendations of them. Each step of discovery was easily understood with questions from me and my wife taken and responded to by him. The prostatectomy operation went smoothly with little pain which was gone in the following week. The pathology of the removed prostate indicated that the surgery was successful as did a 3 month later PSA test. Dr Ashrafi always had time to respond to all of our questions. We can highly recommend Dr Ashrafi based on our experience.

I had a prostatectomy recently carried out by Dr Ashrafi. Amazing job. The robotic surgery was very effective. I lost very little blood and the nerves were avoided. I healed quickly and only needed two nights in hospital. He works miracles. Can’t recommend more highly.

I would recommend Dr Akbar Ashrafi to anyone requiring urological services. He provides the most up to date procedures in a highly skilled manner, he is kind, caring, a great communicator and has one of the best bed-side manners I have experienced.
