3 Best Parks in Mackay QLD

Such a beautiful park to stroll through. Concrete walkways meander around majestic trees. Great place to take your dog for walks on a lead. Or, if you prefer there are 2 off lead areas. One for smaller dogs, the orher for larger dogs. While there, you are also joined by magpies..be careful though, during nesting season they do swoop. The park has several barbques areas, a playground, seating and toilets. There is the Orchid House that is open at certain times , and a beautiful Band Rotunda. Wander around to the Aboriginal Yarn Circle...so interesting to learn the cultures of our first inhabitants...a place to speak and listen others. It is really a gem in the midst of town. You will feel so refreshed after visiting. I have included a picture of the unusual Sausage Tree.

Mackay's first botanical style park est 1884 located to the east of CBD residential areas. Consist of amazing Orchid House display (open limited times each day), palm grove, aboriginal interpretation trial, original local cricket grounds, historical landmarks and structures, dog off-leash fenced park, large children playground complete with BBQs. Note: Internal traffic access no longer permitted. Off street parking via Shakespeare Street. Plenty of external parking. Allow half a day relax or 1.5 hours exploring.

Great park play, lots of space, toilets, bbq water refill taps bubbles, dog sections away from the child playground.

A pleasant experience if you’re in the mood for a quiet stroll by the river. The area is well-maintained, and the views of the river are calming, especially around sunset. There are a few benches where you can sit and take in the scenery, which is nice if you’re looking to relax for a bit. It’s a good spot to unwind, but don’t expect too much beyond the basics. There aren’t many facilities or activities, so it’s more suited for a brief visit rather than an extended stay. Overall, it’s a simple, clean spot that’s worth checking out if you’re nearby, but it’s not something to plan an entire day around.

Stayed nearby and enjoyed a late afternoon walk along this area very nice with beautiful sunset views. Close to the City Centre as well - nice place to relax.

Bluewater Quay is a public space with a beautiful waterfront walkway. There is plenty of parking as well.

Fantastic, go, take some food for the pond nearby as there are ducks and turtles Fenced in playground, heaps of stuff for all ages. Toilets are clean and close by, heaps of areas to sit. Parking is good.

Great place for a small date, searched for turtles, fed some ducks, watched all the tiny fish eating in the pond. Massive playground for the kids to play! Its an awesome park and ill be back for family event.
