Dr Bassem Gerges graduated with honours in medicine from The University of Sydney. His undergraduate training was completed at Westmead Public Hospital before he began his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He also completed an additional fellowship in Gynaecological and Endometriosis Ultrasound and a two-year fellowship in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery, accredited by the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES). During his fellowship, Dr Gerges earned a Master of Surgery in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery with distinction. He holds RANZCOG/AGES Level 6 accreditation, the highest in Advanced Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery in Australia. Currently, he serves as the Trainee Director on the AGES Board. He is committed to educating junior doctors and students as an Honorary Associate Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and a Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University. Dr Gerges practices at Norwest Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, and Blacktown Hospital.
