Nobbys Lighthouse is an iconic landmark atop Nobby Headland and stands as a guardian at the entrance to Newcastle Harbour. With a history of over 150 years, it remains an active and renowned beacon, guiding ships safely in and out of the harbour. The light converted to electric operation in 1935, marking an essential advancement in the establishment of navigational aids along the New South Wales coast, reflecting the economic progress of the surrounding region. Adorned with the Coat of Arms of the City of Newcastle, the Newcastle Port Corporation manages the lighthouse. One can observe the ocean's influence, witnessing how waves sculpted the platform supporting the lighthouse. Moreover, Nobbys Lighthouse offers in-depth city history and spectacular vistas encompassing Newcastle, its harbour, beaches, and Stockton. Regarded as one of the most exquisite and historically significant structures, it provides visitors with a distinctive and architecturally captivating experience.

NOBBYS LIGHTHOUSE REVIEWS
Stunning lighthouse at sunrise and sunset. The walkway out to the lighthouse is quite long and can be reached from several starting places. You can continue past the lighthouse along the pier towards the end too and there's plenty of photo opportunities of the lighthouse from each viewpoint. Information boards are located near the base, and you couldn't get too close to the lighthouse when we visited, just around the base on the outside.
Absolutely beautiful spot! The view is gorgeous and the walk is lovely. Definitely pop by the art gallery and shop if you have the chance. The exhibition changes every one or two months and there's always lots of fantastic things to see.
Lovely walk up to this still operating lighthouse with original lighthouse as well. Lovely brick buildings from bygone times and of course amazing views. Bit of a hike up the hill.

NEWCASTLE CITY HALL REVIEWS
The beautiful sandstone structure stands overlooking over Civic Park, with a decorative fountain backing onto the Art Gallery. The hall boasts a 1920s style ballroom with a surrounding dress circle. Timber and plaster ceiling give the audience a good acoustic. The Australian Chamber chooses it to play in while visiting Newcastle. Two large function rooms are available, plus mayoral offices.
Impressive architecture design, recently renovated makes the sandstone grab your attention. Interior as impressive. Spacious rooms, high ceiling makes for a great community & corporate meeting space. Transport nearby, limited parking. AccessAbility ok. Clean amenities.
Beautiful old building that is well maintained. The acoustics are wonderful. The view from the stalls is very good.

NEWCASTLE LIBRARY REVIEWS
A great city library for current popular books and magazines. I frequent the place for the latest issues. Very comfortable, with lounges and seats about. I have my own computer, I don't need to use a public one, so I cannot comment on that. All in all a nice place to drop in, and great for locals. Staff are friendly.
Cozy little library. I dropped by to kill time, good computers onboard, Apple and usual windows desktops. Clean quiet and well air conditioned for those warm summer days. Decent collection of books too.
Enjoyed the galley upstairs, friendly staff who are very helpful, wonderful space.
