3 Best Bars in Newcastle NSW

An absolute MUST when visiting Newcastle. Don’t just go there for the extensive menu of craft beers; nor the local and international whiskey selection. Don’t just go there for the superb food. Yes, restaurant quality at pub prices!! The reason why we are coming back is the staff. Wow, this team knows their trade. From recommendations of drinks selection to the amazing food service, you won’t be disappointed.

My mum, daughter and I had lunch here on Tuesday the 11th of July. Not only was it freshly made and ready within minutes, the atmosphere and the bar staff were amazing hosts. I ordered the maple pork wrap, now let me tell you this is the place to go to for anything slow cooked and pulled apart. Not only was it juicy and succulent pork, the presentation of it was simple but amazing. My mum ordered the grain burger and she said that was beautiful aswell. For drinks, the craft beer No.8 was a good one for my mum and the rose fury margharita was delicious. 10/10 will be back again!

Gee we had a fantastic afternoon at this place. Bustling, family friendly atmosphere with a huge range a craft beer on tap. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and American style modern bar food is very good. Go to the beach in the morning and then walk the 5 minutes to spend a lovely afternoon hanging out.

We found this gem by accident during our visit from Alaska! Apparently they have a new chef and new menu! Our steak was perfection and the watermelon salad was exceptional. Our compliments to the Chef! And thank you Grace. Lovely dining experience !!

Highly recommend! We recently hosted a special event at Customs house in the Harbour view lounge - and it was incredible! Not only was the communication seamless and so helpful in the lead up (special thank you to Hannah), the team was brilliant on the night! It was a flawless event and everyone had the best time. Some stunning views from the Harbour lounge too. Thank you Hannah, Ella, Ella and team!

One of the most beautiful pubs in Newcastle. The staff and service are top notch and the views are unmatched. Perfect spot for an afternoon beer. Massive beer garden out front is perfect for large groups and dog friendly. Great pub.

Can't fault this place. Great location. We had a booking for 2pm and just ate and drank the afternoon away. Food is great. Tapas yum. Margaritas are awesome.

Booked my daughters 18th on short notice. The Dockyard provided great food and atmosphere. Nothing was a problem. Highly recommend using The Dockyard for your next function.

My 1st time to come to this Hotel and my reason was that it is close to the Civic Theatre it certainly won't be the last time. The staff was welcoming and the service was excellent & so was the food. Excellent spot to go too.
