3 Best Parks in Hobart TAS

Good place to soak up the sun on a fine day . People say colonialism is not all bad but then it is a little tricky to say that a few nice parks made up for the almost complete annihilation of the indigenous population . Gosh there’s a school group here . I’m bit going to take photos of random youths though that would just get me in trouble .it seems they are actually doing some exercise in here . That’s a really fabulous idea and excellent use of such a fine public park ! Just remember to wear sunscreen ok !

Located right next to the bustling Salamanca Markets we were so amazed by how peaceful it was at St David’s Park. The park has lots of large trees with many shady spots to relax and read a book which lots of people were enjoying today. The park is also dotted with clean comfy park benches for those who prefer to be seated. St David’s Park has lots of memorial pieces to look at and is home to St David’s Memorial Walls which is a lovely dedication to a lot of Hobarts founding families.

Beautiful part to have a picnic when the weather is nice. Big beautiful trees and many historical parts to look at. At night, it is quite dark there, but overall it is safe and sound.

Great playgrounds for kids with lots of facilities and equipment. It is located next to the Lindisfarne Bay and has a huge space for parking and entertainment. I go to the park a couple of times a week to just sit down and look at kids playing around. It is a great place for family BBQ and friends catch ups.

Brilliant park, although could do with another slide that's bigger than the little ones but not as huge as the big one where you have to climb, I'm not ready for my 2y/o to climb that one yet! Good toilets, usually clean and have soap and BBQ facilities available, I've not tried them though.

Dogs Day Out was fun, with lots of stalls and information. Amazing amount of different breeds of dogs. Agility course, coffee, ice cream, fish and chips, etc.

Train Park is an excellent destination for both kids and adults. With its impressive slides, it offers endless fun for everyone! The slides are not just a hit among the kids but also add a nostalgic touch for adults. I am beyond impressed with the cleanliness and safety measures in place. Highly recommend a visit to Train Park for a day of adventure and laughter.

Fantastic local park! This fenced park has all the features and none of the gimmicks. Toilets. Free electric BBQs. Shaded seating and table area. Great playground equipment. Epic slides to more baby friendlly slides. All tied together with a railway theme - who said that Hobart didn't have a rail system worth talking about.

Perfect park, especially for train-obsessed kids! There are train track painted paths, with signs and crossing. Great if you bring scooters or bikes. Fantastic play equipment and slides. Shade, tables and BBQ. Clean toilets with soap and it's all gated. Fantastic!
