I recently had the pleasure of trying a selection of pastries and cakes from the renowned Black Star Pastry in Sydney, and it was a fantastic experience. I was gifted eight different kinds of their best creations, and I thoroughly enjoyed sampling each one. The flavors were delightful and distinct, showcasing the high quality and creativity that Black Star Pastry is famous for. My absolute favorite was the watermelon and sesame cake—it's a must-try! If you're in Sydney, this popular spot is definitely worth a visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.

This watermelon cake is a standout! The flavor is refreshingly unique, capturing the essence of ripe watermelon perfectly. It’s a delicious and light option that’s both visually appealing and incredibly tasty. A must-try for cake lovers!

Excellent taste and great service. The Strawberry Watermelon cake is highly recommended. The prices are above average but the taste makes up for it. Overall a good collection of cakes and pastries.

For years, Black Velvet has been my go-to for birthday cakes, and they never fail to amaze me with their creativity. The team is always eager to collaborate on new ideas, ensuring each cake is unique and special. Their cakes are consistently moist, and the buttercream is absolutely irresistible. This year, I hosted a Mexican Fiesta-themed party and asked for a two-tier, Day of the Dead-inspired cake. Black Velvet delivered beyond expectations. The intricate design, printed directly onto the icing and completely edible, was a showstopper. Guests were in awe of both the stunning detail and the incredible flavor—rich red velvet on the bottom tier and a bright, zesty lemon on top. For any occasion, I wholeheartedly recommend Black Velvet for your cake needs.

I have ordered cupcakes from Black Velvet at least 3-4 times and I am yet to fault them. When I request delivery, they are delivered on time and the receiver always receives a text message with a delivery window. The bake on each cupcake is always even and decorated like the picture. They are my go-to bakery when someone special to me is celebrating their birthday. Never had an issue with cupcakes being damaged during transit either. Highly recommend!

I did a lot of shopping around for my son’s birthday cake and I could not have been happier with black velvet cakes. Very good value for money, free (off-peak) delivery and great customer service. Cake was exactly how it looked in the pictures, tasted amazing and I was pleasantly surprised by how big it was. Will definitely be using for future birthdays.

Located at 47 Argyle Street, The Rocks, New South Wales, Australia ????????. This is my favourite patisserie in Sydney. The atmosphere is so relaxing and welcoming. The food is out of this world, especially the cakes. I come here as often as possible, especially when I come to the city. It’s located in one of my favourite parts of Sydney, The Rocks. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If I was going to complain about anything, it’s that the only cold beverages they serve come in a bottle or can. It would be nice if they had frappes/ smoothies etc. the little courtyard where you can sit is gorgeous, I love it. Very easy to get to by public transportation. Well worth a visit.

Cute and high quality french style dessert More creamy and sweet cake than i expected And there has backyard seat like secretly garden. It’s remind me small cafe of paris. This backyard is Hidden jam of crowded rocks area Definitely Wanna try another cake!

We were visiting from the US, and I went on a cruise. This bakery is very close to the port and very convenient. They are a French bakery with all the flares of France. We ended up going to this bakery several times during our holiday. We would even go out of our way to eat here. The food was terrific.
