“Dr Peter Silburn graduated from the University of Queensland in 1988 and completed his training in neurology at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He furthered his training at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and subsequently served as a clinical lecturer in neurology at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Dr Silburn is a member of the National Health and Medical Research Council Expert Advisory Committee on Stem Cells and holds academic affiliations with Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, and the University of Queensland. His clinical interests include neurodegenerative disorders of the brain, movement disorders, and innovative therapies, including neurosurgery. He has been directly involved in over 1,200 functional neurosurgical cases and continues to contribute to intraoperative targeting and neurophysiology assessments. Dr Silburn is the Clinical and Education Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Neuromodulation within the Queensland Brain Institute, recognised as a premier neuroscience research institute in Australia. He has published 200 international peer-reviewed papers in neurology and neurosciences, primarily focusing on Parkinson’s disease, molecular neuroscience, and deep brain stimulation. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2013 Australia Day Honours for his contribution to neurology.

2025 Update: Dr Peter Silburn was appointed a full Professor in Neurobiology and Foundation Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at the School of Medicine in the University of Queensland. At that time, he published over 130 internationally peer-reviewed papers in the field of neuro-degenerations.”

Thank God for my amazing Neurologist! From my pets health to my own health my appointment with him is never long enough. I was in the dark for 4 long years knowing something was wrong with my body and my health. Just 1 HOUR with Dr Sandstrom and he had my diagnosis at 99%! After more tests to confirm it to 100% I began my treatment. He has kept me as well as possible ever since. There is no cure for my condition but there has not been any major progression for which I am so grateful. I can't recommend him highly enough. He is very caring, always up for a joke or funny story and I really look forward to his appointments. He is very knowledgeable on just about everything and an avid bookworm! If there were 10 stars here I would gladly give him 10.

Dr Sandstrom is a kindhearted, sympathetic gentleman with an excellent bedside manner. He is highly regarded in the medical profession and had stopped taking on new patients. Thankfully I was referred by my cardiologist. Although there currently is no cure for me Dr Sandstrom tries his hardest to make me as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional in the field of neurology.

Doctor Sandstrom has been my specialist since 2013. If it wasn’t for him finding the disease I have I not of been here now, he saved my life and I have no doubts. He has saved others. Thank you Dr Sandstorm.

Dr Sellbach has been treating my dystonia with Botox for over 5 years. Dr Sellbach diagnosed my condition and gave me the treatment options. I don’t enjoy the 3 monthly treatments but it has made a huge difference to my self confidence, my head no longer shakes uncontrollably. Dr Sellbach is a great communicator and shows a real interest in you as a person not just a patient. Dion the administrator is wonderful, always greets you with a smile.

A highly knowledgeable yet down to earth specialist. An absolute pleasure to visit her. She is very good with patients as is her receptionist. Could not speak highly enough of this practice!

Dr. Sellbach was very professional, and caring. Her expertise with tremor is second to none. A wonderful Doctor and a credit to the profession.

Dr Silburn Is a very caring and honest man, he is very genuine. If it wasn't for Dr Silburn my mother would be dead by now, he has saved her life. I am so grateful to him for all he has done for her and her Parkinson's disease. I am so thankful that he treated my mother and I can't say enough to praise him for his life saving brain surgery but its not just the surgery but the after care, he continues to care for my mother years later. A truly beautiful and kind man! I am so grateful to him and I wonder how my life would have turned out without him, for he has changed my life for the better. We are all so grateful to him in my family, because life without my mother would have been devastating. Thank you to one of the best Neurologists in the world! (Now we have hope!).

Highly recommend Dr Silburn who literally saved my life when I was suffering from meningo encephalitis. Nothing was a burden and he regularly checked on me and kept my family up to date with progress. I cannot praise Dr Silburn enough as I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for him. He has now progressed on to other parts of neurology but I am certain the underlying care factor and knowledge has progressed with him.

Professor Silburn and his staff are extremely professional and amiable.
