The modern knowledge, technology, and expertise provided by Laros has transformed the way my old home feels and our energy usage. I live in an old weatherboard house (1950s) with concrete tiles and decided to insulate the ceiling as much as I could, given the cost/benefit and it was too much hassle to do the walls. I laid down R7 worth of batts (2xR3.5 cross-laid to reduce airflow). However, I was very disappointed to find they didn't make nearly as much of a difference as I would have expected. The good people at Laros suggested laying a vapour-permeable water and windproof membrane across this thick layer of insulation to maximise its insulating properties by preventing air-movement through the batts. With their help, I got those batts snugly tucked in a blanket (see photo). The difference is night and day from the way it worked with just the batts. The house stays cool much longer, even on really hot days, and warm much longer on cold days. We don't need to keep the heater on like we used to - we just have it on for a while then shut it off for a couple of hours as the rooms retain their heat. We feel much better about our energy expenditure and carbon footprint. Given we can only do so much about the rest of the house leaking like a sieve, we're really happy we could give it this energy efficiency update and make such a difference.

We are SO pleased with our new Ultimate windows and doors. Love the difference they make in keeping the house cool - haven’t needed to run the air-con! And closing them during thunderstorms really cuts down on the noise - our dog is more relaxed! The installation happened on schedule and the boys worked so efficiently. Great job all round. The outlay is an investment worth making.

Couldn’t recommend Ultimately Windows more highly. We had a very small job, only needed two original 1960s windows replaced. The price was fair, communication was excellent, timelines were well communicated and everything happened with they said it would. The windows have surpassed our expectations, the sound has reduced and rooms are noticeably warmer. Will be using them again next time!

Dean from Ultimate Windows Canberra prepared our quote and was able to keep the costs down by making several suggestions which actually improved the look of our new windows. Mitch and Dean were very thorough in the final measure and we were kept informed about when the installation would occur. Installation went smoothly and within the planned timeframe. There were a couple of small follow up items which were addressed quickly. The windows have been in two months and we are very happy with the finish and look and, of course, with the insulation they provide. We recommend Ultimate Windows.

We had a large install ($50K ish) of top end 2.5 glazed windows and the service (contrary to some rather dated reviews) was second to none. The communication was excellent. The service was spot on. The team did exactly what they said they would when they would. Ignore old reviews - whatever was wrong the team seems to have fixed it. Their admin team are efficient and friendly, and the one minor hiccup we had was addressed quickly and without fuss. Its 37 degrees today and I'm sitting in a large 5 bedroom house without the aircon on (its warm but normally i would be complaining and the aircon would have been on all day trying to compete). The double (they say its somewhere between double and triple) glazing really works. wish we had done it sooner. We paid for a quality product and service and got what we paid for. Its also perhaps worth noting that we got them to do the install as well so there was no finger pointing when it came to any issues. There was a temptation to cut a few dollars but again I think that having the same people build and install is insurance well spent. We also flipped the design so we had the sliding windows at the bottom for better cross-ventilation. That seems to work a treat too. The design team had no issues with our unconventional approach. Monaro gave us a great experience from the show room and quote, right through to installation. They let us know our pricing options for what we wanted to achieve and we're really helpful in providing suggestions. The installation staff were friendly, funny and respectful of our home. 10/10 would recommend this company as all their materials are made locally. This meant the turn around time was shorter than we expected. Really happy with the final product, thanks so much!

Monaro Windows were very easy to work with, right from showroom to installation. Their advice was very helpful and they patiently worked with us through several variations of window design and glazing options. We went for the argon filled double glazing and it works a treat! The team were also very helpful when the accessibility window handles on some windows failed at or shortly after installation, replacing them at no cost. A friendly and efficient team!
